PowerPoint Web App
PowerPoint
Web App was switched on quietly by Microsoft on June 7th 2010 as part of the Office 2010 Web Apps suite.
Users can access the PowerPoint Web App from Office.live.com.
It is available to users in the U.S., UK, Canada and Ireland. Those outside the initial launch countries can download
the final version by going to this web site also. Microsoft launched the paid SharePoint version
of Office Web Apps for business customers in May.
Working with PowerPoint Web App
Editing in PowerPoint Web App is best suited for quick changes, such as making a correction, adding a graphic, or adding
some slides. If you need the full set of PowerPoint capabilities, you need to go back to the desktop application. To do
this, click the File tab, and then click Open in PowerPoint.
PowerPoint Web App opens the presentation directly in your desktop application, where you can work more substantially
— for example, if you want to modify transitions or edit slide content that is not in placeholders. In PowerPoint, when
you click Save, PowerPoint saves the presentation back on the web server. |

PowerPoint is a key component of Office Web Apps, the free web-based
versions of Microsoft Office. PowerPoint Web App allows the user to create, edit, and share Microsoft PowerPoint presentations
directly in the web browser. Users can share presentations and collaborate with others online. Supported web browsers
include Internet
Explorer (7 and later) Firefox (3.5 and later) and Safari (4 and later).
Home and school users are able to access the PowerPoint Web App through Windows Live SkyDrive. For businesses and corporations wanting to
host Office Web Apps privately, Microsoft offers paid SharePoint versions. |

PowerPoint Web App has the familiar look and feel of PowerPoint. It providers users with
the ability to access and edit presentaions anywhere in the world, using only a Web browser, and to collaborate with colleagues
or customers in real time. The PowerPoint Web App allows multiple users to work with and modify the same presentation
at the same time, just like the Word, OneNote and Excel Web Apps.
If you want to make changes to the presentation, click Edit in Browser.
In Editing view you can add and delete content, and format text. You can also add, delete, duplicate, and hide slides. You
can add or modify SmartArt and pictures, as well as hyperlinks. Go to the Insert tab to add these.
